Peter Vamos is a seasoned marketing, sales and content executive who has held key roles developing innovative digital initiatives for leading organizations in Canada and around the world.

Peter began his career helping launch Canada’s first online news site, canoe.com, and went on to build his career developing a well-earned reputation as innovator and digital thought leader.

Before joining Wish Group, Peter held the position of Managing Director of Video at The Toronto Star, where he developed the video strategy for thestar.com, including The Star’s video branded content business. He was also Head of Video and Revenue Products at Postmedia where he oversaw initiatives that drove digital revenue and delivered video programming to Postmedia’s audience of 7 million. During this period, Peter founded Postmedia’s online TV channel Canada.comTV. featuring long-form documentary, lifestyle and current affairs programming.

Peter also held dual roles at the Banff World Media Festival of Executive Director and Vice President of Marketing and Sales, where he the event’s merger with digital media conference nextMedia, assuring the success and viability of the festival in the digital age. Prior to joining Banff, Peter was Publisher and Editor of Playback Magazine where he helped transform the operation from print-based publication to digital first media business.

Along the way, he has partnered with organizations that develop virtual reality content, artificial intelligence enabled video, podcasts, and social content. He has worked with such leading brands as Sony, Mill Street Brewery, Toyota, BMO, Benjamin Moore, BDC, York University, Vena Solutions, Endy Mattress, Freshbooks, and Hello Fresh.
