3 Keys to a Successful Mindset: Part 2

A good business mindset is one of the keys to success as an entrepreneur. A good mindset can help you reach success, while a bad one can derail all of your best efforts.

To fully cover the 3 keys to a successful mindset, I’ve split this blog post into three parts to be discussed over three weeks:

Part 1) Growth Mindset – Tuesday, November 8th

Part 2) Always On – Today

Part 3) Intimate Relationship with Your Subconscious – Tuesday, November 22nd

Please read Part 1: Growth Mindset and join me in the discussion of this in-depth three part series.

3 Keys to a Successful Mindset: Part 2

Always On

In a world where technology is constantly disrupting and transforming how businesses function, it is imperative that entrepreneurs keep their mind open to incorporating new technologies into their business. I don’t mean that you should try every app under the sun, but you should look into technology that can help you do a task better or faster. Look into technology that improves communication with your team, makes delegating tasks easier, improves production, etc.

An example where a successful company disregarded changes that were disrupting and transforming their market, is Nokia. During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia’s CEO said, “We didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost.” While they didn’t do anything wrong, they weren’t evolving with changes in the business world and their competition was constantly innovating to stay current. Nokia remained stagnant with business as usual, they were switched off, and didn’t see the changes evolving around them.

The advantage you had yesterday will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. Don’t make yourself crazy trying every new technology that is developed, but keep tabs on how your competition is evolving, attend industry conferences to learn new trends, speak with your mentors about the value of certain new technologies, and never stop improving yourself and your business.

Disclaimer: The title of this post might be “Always On,” but that does not mean “never sleep.” Get the amount of sleep you need to be your best self. We are all different, some people can function on four hours of sleep, while others need eight to nine hours to feel fully refreshed. Either way, make sure you are not skipping out on sleep too often. Even in a world that is always on, your brain requires you to be asleep to rest and regenerate.

Leave a comment about today’s post and join in again next week when we talk about Part 3: Relationship with Your Subconscious.
